Kamakura is a coastal city not far from Tokyo. It's easy to visit, about an hour from Tokyo. It has famous attractions such as the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in and the Hokoku-ji bamboo forest, both well worth visiting. There is also the Komachi-dori shopping street and many old temples.
