Gotemba Premium Outlets

Gotemba Premium Outlets

Gotemba Premium Outlets is located in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture, about 90 minutes from Tokyo. It is considered the largest outlet mall in Japan, with a huge selection of both domestic and international brands. It is very popular with tourists, as it sits along the route to Mount Fuji and the lakes of the Hakone area. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji from here, making it a great spot for both shopping and scenery.

This outlet mall has an open-air atmosphere, with more than 200 shops and a food court, as well as a 50-meter-tall Ferris wheel with sweeping views over the mall. Although a few Japanese labels are represented, the mall focuses mainly on international names, from clothing and sporting goods to household items and electronics. Brands include Abercrombie & Fitch, Adidas, Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Balenciaga, Birkenstock, Burberry, Bvlgari, Cath Kidston, Celine, Columbia Sportswear, Diesel, G-Shock, Gucci, Issey Miyake, Kate Spade New York, Lacoste, Levi's, Marc Jacobs, Nike, Oakley, Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban, Saint Laurent, and many more. You can see more brands at http://www.premiumoutlets.co.jp/th/gotemba/brands/?tab=1

The mall offers everything from street brands to premium labels, and prices are generally lower than at regular retail stores in Japan. Most shops accept credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners. Many shops also offer tax refund services for international visitors. It is well worth the trip for serious shoppers, as well as anyone who wants to take in views of Mount Fuji without travelling too far.
