Nakabashi Bridge (Nakabashi Bridge) is located in Takayama city, in the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture, an old town that still retains a traditional Japanese atmosphere, making it a popular destination for travelers who want to experience Japanese charm amid beautiful nature. The bridge stands out for its deep red color, making it easy to spot, and it is also an important symbol of the city. From mid to late April, when cherry blossoms bloom all around it, the bridge becomes one of Takayama's most popular cherry blossom spots.
There are also willow trees around the bridge, with long, drooping branches that give the area a lush green, relaxing look, and they also show striking colors during the autumn foliage season. Spring is the most popular time to visit. The cherry blossoms are beautiful by day and just as charming at night, when colorful lights illuminate the trees. The bridge is lit up with decorative lighting four times a year, and it is also part of the procession route for the Takayama Matsuri festival, one of the three greatest festivals in Japan. Nakabashi Bridge is truly a spot not to be missed when visiting Takayama.
