Shiroi Koibito Park is located in Sapporo. Just the words "chocolate factory" are enough to excite any dessert lover. The factory belongs to Ishiya, a Hokkaido-based chocolate company known for its signature product, Shiroi Koibito cookies — butter cookies filled with white chocolate that practically melt in your mouth. They are one of Hokkaido's most popular souvenirs. The park is especially beautiful in winter, when its European-style buildings are decked out in winter illuminations, making it feel like a stroll through a romantic European town.
Shiroi Koibito Park is more than just a factory. The complex includes a chocolate museum along with shops, cafes, and restaurants selling a wide variety of chocolate products. Visitors can watch the cookie-making process up close, and there are hands-on workshops where you can make your own cookies. The park also has a football pitch that serves as the training ground for the J-League club Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo.
