And what could be better than sipping good coffee surrounded by nature while taking in a view of Mount Fuji at the same time? If that sounds like a dream, it can come true: Starbucks has a branch in Shizuoka Prefecture, home to Mount Fuji. This Starbucks is located at a rest stop near a tollgate on the Tomei Expressway. The branch isn't large, luxurious, or architecturally striking. It's a modestly sized, cozy shop with simple decor designed to blend in with the scenery as much as possible. But the view of Mount Fuji here is priceless, and the Fuji River is nearby. It's hard to find a view this good anywhere else. It also makes a good stop on a day trip, with temples, shrines, and parks nearby, though it isn't the easiest place to reach. Renting a car is probably the best way to visit, but you can also walk there from the nearest station, Fujikawa Station. The shop is open from 7am to 10pm, so you can stop by in the morning for fresh air and a view before heading elsewhere, or drop in during the evening near sunset for an equally beautiful view. Either way, taking in the view of Mount Fuji here is well worth it.
