A shrine along the Shinkyogoku shopping street
Shinkyogoku and Teramachi Shopping Streets are each about 500-plus meters long, roughly 1 kilometer combined, with small lanes connecting the two streets all along the way. They're lined with shops selling all kinds of goods — souvenirs, clothes, shoes, bags, food, sweets, and books — along with restaurants, cafes, shrines, and temples — making this one of Kyoto's main shopping areas. Nearby you'll also find Nishiki Market, a famous local market in Kyoto.
